Lawyer position in Tunis

The lawyer will join SPE Capital’s team and will report to SPE’s general counsel. The selected candidate will be based in Tunis and interacting with SPE Capital’s Dubai, Abidjan, Johannesburg and Tunis teams.
This job position is a unique opportunity in Tunisia to gain exposure to legal issues relating to the Private Equity investment process, cross-border corporate matters and investment fund legal management.

Key Responsibilities:
▪ Develop and present legal solutions for investment in portfolio companies and portfolio monitoring;
▪ Draft investment contracts, supervise their signature;
▪ Help in negotiating investments and transactions;
▪ Determine the rights and obligations of the parties involved;
▪ Provide support during investment opportunities within the MEA region;
▪ Conduct research and collect data as required for projects;
▪ Assist with the preparation of various contracts and all necessary legal documents in both French, English and Arabic;

Candidate Profile & Requirements:
▪ Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from a leading French speaking law school;
▪ Bar membership required;
▪ 1-3 years of professional experience in business and corporate law;
▪ Dedication and ability to work in a team;
▪ Self-starter, attentive entrepreneurial mindset and high degree of autonomy;
▪ Interest for and willingness to have exposure to the MEA region;
▪ French and English required. Legal drafting skills in French and English are also required;
▪ Arabic and legal drafting in Arabic are highly appreciated;

Location: Tunis.
Start Date: Immediate.
Remuneration: Competitive.
Assignment duration: Indefinite.
